The NUTCRACKER is a production of Roswell Dance Theatre, the performing company of the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance. Our goal is to present the most professional performances possible. As a cast member, your child is subject to all the same rules and expectations as company members.

Rehearsals MUST be a priority in your schedule. Regular rehearsals take place at the Tolbert Yilmaz Studio. Dancers are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the rehearsal and MUST be picked up promptly after the rehearsal! PLEASE read your REHEARSAL SCHEDULE carefully-it is helpful to highlight your rehearsal times.

Your $100.00 PARTICIPATION FEE is due before September 30.

Dress rehearsals and performances are held at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center on Forrest Street behind the Library. You will be given specific dates and call times and your child is expected to be ON TIME and COMPLETELY PREPARED to dance. Each dancer has an Alternate/Understudy who may be called if anyone is late or not properly prepared to dance. If you have an emergency and cannot make a performance, you must call me as soon as possible so that we can contact your Alternate. BE AWARE that if we have to ask someone to dance in your place, you lose a performance. If you know ahead of time that you need to dance at a time other than you are scheduled, you may try to arrange a swap with your Alternate. PLEASE be cordial as you try to make schedule arrangements. ALWAYS let us know about any changes.

Open school cast members are NOT allowed to bring anything into the dressing rooms. ONLY the Dressing Room Parent Volunteers for each performance are allowed in the dressing rooms. (Look for Volunteer sign-up sheets soon).

School performances are scheduled for 10AM on Wednesday (12/2); 10AM on Thursday (12/3) and 10AM on Friday (12/4). WE REALIZE THAT NOT EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE IN SCHOOL PERFORMANCES-WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE, YOU MUST INFORM US IN WRITING IF YOU CANNOT PERFORM IN A PARTICULAR SHOW. ALSO, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out if your child's School plans to attend a School show, and inform us in writing of the date.

You will receive information inviting you to purchase flowers for your dancer, and have photos made in costume at the Theatre-fund-raisers for Roswell Dance Theatre. As with recitals, professional videos will be available.

You will be given the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of Public sales. EVERYONE MUST HAVE A TICKET to attend performances! (School performances are ONLY for groups such as schools, senior citizens, etc.) We will have reserved seating for all performances. Saturday evening is the VIP performance with a pre-performance cocktail party included in the ticket price. The Nutcracker Character Breakfast is prior to the Saturday morning performance. The Nutcracker Character Tea is prior to the Sunday matinee performance. OPEN SCHOOL DANCERS DO NOT ATTEND THE CHARACTER BREAKFAST OR TEA! Ticket information will be available soon - ticket prices vary by performance.

PLEASE remember that it takes MANY people MANY hours to produce the Nutcracker. All of these people are VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE cooperate graciously with them at all times.
